Happy Anniversary to us!

On July 24th, we celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary! It was a Friday, so that evening we went on this dinnerboat cruise along the Tennessee River, called the Southern Belle. I have to admit it looked a little cheesy at first, but it turned out to be a really nice evening. And the food was surprisingly good.

Though the dinner cruise was great, our real celebration was a trip to Los Cabos, Mexico. The funny thing about Cabo is that it's the desert - cactuses, sand and more cactuses - that butts right up to an ocean paradise. The water is beautiful and clear, but also, a real work out. The undertow was so strong that just taking a dip in the ocean was a real "hold on to your britches moment".

We went with several other couples...mostly from Dallas, but stayed over a few extra days alone. It was awesome!

So I really haven't fallen off the Blog Wagon

Needless to say, it's been a REALLY long time since my last posting. Most people (girls particularly) that if you don't post something in a long time, then come back, that means your pregnant...not so much! One day though...

Anyway, I wanted to post a few pictures of our home in Chattanooga. We're in a great location, what they call around here, North Chattanooga or more specifically the NorthShore. We're in close walking distance to the Tennessee River and Coolidge Park and some great shops/restaurants.

The house we're renting was built in the early '20s and is roughly - oh about - 1,000 sq. ft. She's small folks! 2 bedrooms, 1 bath. Makes for an interesting bathroom experience with guests, particularly the in-laws...but I digress. It's been redone - though she does slope quite a bit toward the back. I told Neil the first couple of days we were here that this house kind of made me car sick.

And NO, the stankin' house in Dallas hasn't sold yet...ERR! As soon as it does, though, you can bet your sweet butt that I'll be on the house prowl to find one we can call our own.

Update...from Chattanooga

Wow, I just realized how long it's bee since I've posted anything. Well, we are officially in Chattanooga and things are going well. Our house in Texas hasn't sold yet, so we are renting a house in Tennessee (actually owned by a co-worker of Neil). It's a great house - built in the 1920s so it's got a lot of character. I'll post some pics soon.

We've joined and gym and we're going to a different church each Sunday to figure out where we fit. Neil is really liking his new job! I've been enjoying my time off, looking at job postings online and keeping my eyes and ears open. In the mean time, I've been able to send out our Christmas cards, cook dinner and get a lot of Christmas shopping done!

We're headed back to Alabama in a few weeks to celebrate Christmas...so the holidays have been keeping us busy. Thanksgiving was great and it was so nice to only drive 2 hours to get to see my family!

Kasey & Jeff's Wedding

Our friends, Kasey and Jeff, got married this past weekend here in Dallas. Kasey and I met at Dallas Fan Fares about 1 1/2 years ago when she first started. We instantly became friends and have been pretty much inseparable ever since. I know she's a friend I'll have for life.

I was fortunate enough to be part of their wedding party. Kasey made it so special for all of us. We had a great time! Congrats and enjoy Maui!

I love her shirt!

News!

Neil and I have some very exciting news to share. Last week, Neil accepted a promotion within his company and we will be moving to CHATTANOOGA, TN! We are sad to leave our new friends in Texas but excited about this new opportunity and to be closer to family and old friends.

We went in Chattanooga this past weekend and it's beautiful!

We also surprised some of my family afterwards in Birmingham. We got to see our niece and nephew too, Alli and Logan. Aren't they precious?!

We will keep you posted over the next few weeks/months. More to come...

Labor Day Weekend

Mom and Tom came to visit for Labor Day weekend. This was their first time to see the new house. Mom and I shopped for some house stuff while Neil and Tom rewired some things and hung a new flat screen TV in the den. We had a great time! Come back soon...we miss you!
